The person on the other end

At the airport when you land. On the phone until your last check-up.

A coordinator is assigned in your language. The same person stays with you through every stage, so you never restart the conversation.

Our mission

Our mission is to help international patients and their families reach healthcare in Türkiye with clear information, careful planning and support they can rely on, across every specialty we coordinate at our partner hospitals.

We take each patient's medical situation and concerns seriously and stay with them through the whole process: from the first medical enquiry and the documents the hospital asks for, through treatment and the hospital stay, to follow-up after they return home. For us, coordination means more than booking appointments. Trust, transparency and people-centred care come first, and we work to be a dependable bridge between our patients' home countries and Türkiye.

Our vision

We aim to be a trusted health tourism intermediary for international patients, bringing together the medical expertise of our partner hospitals in Türkiye and patient support that works across languages and borders.

Beyond the medical side, we work to international standards of legal transparency, ethics, multilingual communication and long-term follow-up, so that patients and their families can concentrate on treatment.

Principles from our chairman

Our Chairman of the Board, Orhan Arslan, worked in healthcare for many years before founding MedAssist, and he has also been a patient himself. That experience shapes three principles we follow: we give accurate and complete information; we do not raise hopes beyond what the treating doctors can say; and we never guide anyone towards illegal methods.

The person behind MedAssist

Orhan Arslan

Chairman of the Board

Orhan Arslan is the founder and Chairman of the Board of MedAssist. He has worked in health tourism since 2018. He also contributes to academic studies at national and international congresses and conferences.

Born in 1967, he studied Health Management at Hacettepe University from 1986 to 1991. He went on to earn a master's degree in Hospital Administration and Organisation there. From 1991 to 1995, he was a founding manager in Ministry of Health hospitals. Between 1997 and 2002, he was a regional manager at Ethicon. In that role, he also taught laparoscopic surgery techniques and the use of products. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as a medical products marketing manager.

From 2007 to 2011, he coordinated health services in tourism regions. From 2012 to 2018, he coordinated neonatal and adult intensive care units in private hospitals. That coordination background shapes how MedAssist works today. MedAssist arranges and accompanies each journey; medical decisions stay with the treating doctor.

Why Türkiye

Why choose Türkiye?

Türkiye has long welcomed international patients. Below are the reasons patients often mention, stated as facts you can check. Whether a treatment suits you is decided by the treating doctor.

  • Accredited hospitals

A number of private hospitals in Türkiye hold international accreditation, such as JCI. Accreditation says something about a hospital's processes and patient safety standards, and you can check a hospital's current status on the accrediting body's own website.

  • A regulated sector

International health tourism in Türkiye is regulated by the Ministry of Health. Health facilities and intermediary agencies that serve international patients need an authorisation certificate, and MedAssist works as an authorised intermediary.

  • Used to international patients

Larger hospitals in Istanbul and other cities have international patient departments. They work with interpreters and prepare medical documents in several languages, so reports can be shared with your doctor at home.

  • Support in your language

MedAssist arranges appointments at partner hospitals, helps prepare the documents the hospital asks for, including the ethics committee file for a living-donor transplant, and organises airport transfers and accommodation. Your coordinator speaks your language and stays in touch during follow-up. Medical decisions remain with the treating doctor.

  • Easy to reach

Türkiye sits where Europe and Asia meet, and Istanbul has direct flights to much of Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. For many patients and companions this keeps travel simple and makes follow-up visits easier to plan.

  • Planned appointments

In some countries a planned operation can mean a long wait. In Türkiye, an appointment for planned treatment can often be arranged sooner, depending on the specialty and the hospital. The date is confirmed with the hospital before you travel.
